World Mental Health Day 2024

Every year on the 10th October, the world comes together to commemorate World Mental Health Day, a crucial event aimed at raising awareness and encouraging conversations around mental health. The theme this year, as set by the World Health Organization (WHO), is “workplace mental health” which emphasizes  the importance of addressing wellbeing in the workplace in particular and how making mental health a priority for businesses can benefit everyone: people, organisations, and communities as a whole.

Mental health, though often invisible, plays a profound role in shaping our day-to-day lives – both in and out of the workplace. Yet, for many years, it has been an overlooked aspect of overall health, with stigma and lack of resources often standing in the way of those who need support. This day reminds us to challenge those barriers and work toward a society where mental well-being is as prioritised as physical health while also raising awareness for how detrimental these issues can be on people, workplaces and society at large.

Did You Know? 15% of UK workers are estimated to have an existing mental health condition with 875,000 workers suffering from work-related stress, depression and anxiety in 2022/23.

At Impact IT Solutions we recognise the importance of mental well-being and we are dedicated to supporting one another and the local community. We are committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace environment, encouraging open communication, positive workplace culture and promoting a healthy work-life balance. Together we can create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported.

That’s why on Monday 7th October, we held a fundraising event for Mind UK!

For our event, we did our own spin on the Mind “Big Brunch.” There were cakes, pizza, quizzes, games, and plenty of smiles to go around! It was incredible to see everyone at Impact IT getting involved for such an amazing and important cause. Together, we even beat our fundraising goal!

As we mark World Mental Health Day, let’s remember the importance of compassion and understanding in supporting those around us. Mental health is a collective journey, and together we can make a meaningful difference. I encourage everyone to continue supporting mental health causes, not just today but every day.

A little bit of kindness can go a long way.
